Q: WHEN DID YOU START SHOOTING FOR FUN AND WHEN DID YOU BECOME A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?
I’ve always shot for fun. I started taking pictures since I was a little girl. I used to pose my baby sister with all sort of “props”. (She is still one of my favourite people to photograph and lucky for me she still is put up with having my camera in her face her whole life lol). During high school I was always the “girl with the camera” as the un-official photographer of my school generation. I used my fathers’ Pentax MX using black and white film to take photos of my family and friends. I loved film so much that while still living with my parents I created a “dark room” in the little bathroom in the back of the house, where I spent most of my days of summer developing hundreds of photos.
I officially started shooting portraits and weddings in 2001, I was shooting on weekends, after work, and taking my vacation days from work to shoot. But in 2013, I took the leap of faith, and pull all of my energy into becoming a full time photographer and never looked back 🙂
I have met some of the most amazing women whom I am grateful enough to call my friends. In the fall of 2013, I opened my own boutique studio and I could not imagine doing anything else.
