I am so honoured to have been asked to participate in S|HE Thrives by After Breast Cancer 2016 project as one of 12 photographers who will have the privilege of capturing the story of 12 breast cancer survivors.
After Breast Cancer is a Canada wide charity dedicated to supporting and celebrating those affected by breast cancer. Most people believe that surviving breast cancer treatment is the end of the battle, but in fact, it is the beginning of the healing journey. After treatment, breast cancer graduated face numerous physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Countless women struggle to re-establish themselves in the workforce, manage chronic health issues resulting from treatment, instate new healthy lifestyle habits, overcome depression, and become reacquainted with their new bodies.
A photoshoot to honour and celebrate breast cancer graduates!
Life after breast cancer is to be celebrated, and all women deserve to feel beautiful and confident. After I was approached by After Breast Cancer about this amazing project, I immediately said yes!
Taking place on July 13th, 12 courageous women will get styled and photographer by Toronto’s top photographers. I am so proud to say that I am one of them. (YAY!) We will be getting together to create an unforgettable day for these 12 ladies who have endured the hardship of cancer.
These ambassadors are no models, some have never stepped in front of a camera before. Each woman will get professional make-up and hair styling done and wear an outfit handpicked by a professional stylist.
This project is about celebrating life, inspiriting others and giving them an experience they will remember forever.
Finally, I am leaving you with some links that may help you to get involved with this amazing cause.
